About Miss Korhn

Miss Korhn was born and raised in a small town called Defiance, Ohio.  In high school, she was a cheerleader, member of the quiz team, and in the National Honor Society.  She attended Denison University, majoring in English and Education, and graduated cum laude.  Miss Korhn moved to Boston in 2003 to attend graduate school at Boston University.

As a child, Miss Korhn rapidly devoured all books thrown her way, but was particularly fond of The Babysitters Club series by Ann M. Martin.  As with most (but not ALL) children’s book series, there comes a time when one outgrows the plots, vocabulary, and conflicts.  By 7th grade, Miss Korhn had moved on to a new literary obsession—the historical fiction of Ann Rinaldi.  Now that she’s grown up, Miss Korhn has some new favorites, including the Harry Potter series (as anyone who has entered her classroom knows) by J.K. Rowling, Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett, East of Eden by John Steinbeck, and the A Song of Fire and Ice series by George R.R. Martin.

When she’s not reading, Miss Korhn can be found in the kitchen testing new and delicious recipes, daydreaming about the day she’ll own a puppy, or practicing her vicious Scrabble game.
